JoF, Vol. 12, Pages 355: Taxonomy and Phylogeny of Lepiota Sect. Stenosporae (Verrucosporaceae) from Northeast China, with Six New Species and One New Record

A taxonomic study of Lepiota sect. Stenosporae from Northeast China used multi-locus molecular analysis combined with microscopic features to delimit twelve species in the group. Six were newly described (L. dolichospora, L. hongshiensis, L. jilinensis, L. microstenospora, L. sinocastanea, and L. sirupa), and one was a new country record. The work provides morphological descriptions and illustrations for all recognized taxa.

JoF, Vol. 12, Pages 350: Research Progress of Laccase in Edible and Medicinal Fungi

A Journal of Fungi review examines laccase, a copper-containing enzyme found in edible and medicinal fungi that degrades lignin, produces pigments, and treats pollutants. Researchers have isolated laccase genes from multiple fungal species and identified stage-specific expression patterns during mycelial growth and fruiting body development. Recent advances in genomics and gene editing have expanded understanding of laccase gene diversity and regulation.
